The word vijnana means "inner wisdom" or knowledge that is intuitive, personal and fully-aware. With this quality of mind students explore the intrinsic intelligence in the body, including the use of the breath principle (vayu) and bandha - focal points in the body that give the practitioner a sense of alignment and ease.
Each class includes an extended pranayama and asana practice that also includes meditation and text study. Students explore a classical “mala” or string of postures in a focused and personal approach using the breath and tools for alignment. This is an intermediate level and welcomes all students who have a solid understanding of standing poses, basic backbends and inversions.

Healing medicinal plants have been our allies on this planet from the very beginning. Aromatherapy will help prepare us for our guided relaxa-tion. We will anoint ourselves with soothing lavender or chamomile essential oils and finish with a restful hour of Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep.
Yoga Nidra is an ancient system of yogic re-laxation that allows you to reconnect to your “deepest, most intimate and relaxed receptivity of intuitive spontaneous intelligence” according to Richard Miller, Ph.D. In our practice we will work with a positive affirmation that will help deepen and inspire your practice.
Both Megan and MJ have spent years exploring and studying the healing qualities of sound. Through their individual paths they have come to understand the power of sound to move us out of the thinking mind and into the body so that powerful transformation can take place. Both yoga teachers, they have taught together in the past, but this will be the first time they bring sound together at one event. Join them for a unique opportunity to be bathed in sound with both Crystal Singing Bowls and Metal Tibetan Singing Bowls. This evening will be an expansive evening of sound that will provide opportunities for relaxation, rejuvenation and release.
